Dealing With Conflict - A Learning Resource for Education
Dealing with Conflict is a unique teaching resource about the outstanding encounter work conducted between Jews and Palestinians, mainly of Israeli citizenship, at the conflict facilitation centre of Neve Shalom ~ Wahat al Salam, known as the School for Peace. The resource was initially developed with the curricular requirements of secondary schools in England in mind. The first edition was released in 1999, followed by an updated version a few years later. Since summer 2009 the resource has been available in full as a pdf via this website. You can download it free of charge, or with an optional donation of £10 or more. If you want a full colour version for which there is a charge, please contact us.

Learning about the Encounter between groups in conflict
The resource contains a vast amount of information that is useful to anyone working with young persons, even undergraduates. It gives examples of how Jews and Palestinians are being brought together in this unique village. Particular attention is given to Israeli Palestinians who live in Israel and their status within a society that is defined as Jewish by the majority. It discusses and examines identity and nationality, as well as conflict and mediation theory in an accessible format for young people. A section of games, exercises and role plays is added in the appendix, which is useful to any secondary school, regardless of whether the Israeli / Palestinian conflict is on its syllabus or not.
Chronology of Events, Jewish and Palestinian Perspectives
The resource includes a jewel of a chronology that was not only pioneering in 1999, but remains a model today. After much discussion and consultation, we were able to develop this history in a time line of events that reads both side's views next to each other. This gives unique insights to anyone learning about the Palestinian / Israeli conflict, by seeing the same events from two very different perspectives.
